Danube information without obstacles
The Danube and the many topics related to the river should be accessible to everyone. For several years, viadonau has been taking targeted measures to progressively improve information and services in terms of both digitalization and accessibility. Preparing content in an understandable and clear manner, but also optimizing the application, navigation and structure of the viadonau website and the associated online services are at the forefront of the company’s customer-oriented online presence.
By the year 2020, viadonau is one of the first companies in Austria to be the proud holder of the WACA certificate (Web Accessibility Certificate Austria). It not only stands for our continued efforts for a barrier-free web presence, but as an official seal of quality also confirms the fulfillment of internationally agreed guidelines for barrier-free access to the extensive information pool of the viadonau website according to WCAG 2.0 (AA). These so-called Web Content Accessibility Guidelines form the basis for the Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI), which Austria is committed to and that aims at removing barriers for the disadvantaged and increasing their opportunities to participate in a knowledge-based economy and society. With the Danube region as a connecting element of nature conservation, business, life and leisure, it is all the more important for us to give all those interested in the stream equal access to the diverse Danube topics.
