The objective of this project was the restoration and reconnection of a silted-up right-sided branch of the Morava between river kilometre 32.92 and 32.10 (side arm "Angern"). The result is a side arm with year-round water flow over a length of approx. 820m.
Due to the reconnection of this silted-up side arm a dynamic river habitat was generated. Apart from creating additional habitats for fish, the common river mussel and other water-bound animals like the beaver, the otter or the kingfisher, all corresponding conservation objectives are being met. The situation of amphibians is positively affected due to the creation of specific water bodies that are water-bearing every year during the spawning season.
