From 21 to 25 November, Hasselt was the host city of the second RIS Week in 2016. Between expert group meetings, Wednesday 23 was devoted to the RIS Common Issues Meeting. A high participation of 112 delegates showed the high interest in technical RIS developments and updates as well as discussions of how the current RIS services fit in the future DINA framework towards a Digital Inland Waterway Area.

The RIS Week was hosted by Promotie Binnenvaart Vlaandern vzw, Waterwegen en Zeekanaal NV and nv De Scheepvaart and co-organized by the RIS Week Support team of viadonau. The next RIS week will be held in May 2017 (8-12) in Belgrade, Serbia, organized by the Directorate for inland waterways PLOVPUT in cooperation with viadonau.
