viadonau collects, processes and manages a wide range of data and information in order to fulfil its tasks assigned by public-law. This includes statistical data, measurement data, geodata, etc. This data forms the basis, for example, for ensuring the safety of navigation, carrying out hydraulic engineering planning, implementing renaturalisation measures or supporting conservation measures.

The Information Reuse Act (revised version July 2022) stipulates that data and information collected on behalf of the public sector should be made available to the public for unrestricted reuse in order to increase the potential for value creation and enable the development of new applications and business models. As a modern, customer-orientated company, we want to establish an open data strategy.

Our data catalogue (german) provides an overview of already published (geo) data from the various subject areas. These may be used without restriction, with the exception of naming (source: viadonau). Further data can be provided via the geodata enquiry form (german) or by email opendata[at]viadonau.org. In addition, viadonau has already made selected datasets available on various open data portals in accordance with the OGC (Open Geospatial Consortium) standard. These can be integrated into your existing applications in a platform-independent manner.
